Berealocal is a network of independent businesses brought together to promote our community’s cultural energy and economy. Berea has a long tradition of being a unique and artistic community. Despite the community’s rich history and identity it appears that some of what brought it that reputation is slowly and tragically disappearing. There’s a gradual but real threat of Berea becoming just like Anytown, USA.

This website is part of an effort to promote Berea’s independent and unique businesses. We want to inform and encourage citizens and tourists alike to shop local and support the organizations that make Berea truly distinct. New studies show that local economies can be greatly impacted even with modest changes in buying patterns. Larger percentages of dollars spent in locally owned businesses stay in the local community when compared to the same amount spent in a chain store.
